Bashira Plant Care Instructions
The Bashira (Money Tree) is an excellent, low-maintenance choice for indoor spaces. It thrives with minimal effort when its core water and light needs are met.
☀️ Light
-
Preference: Thrives in bright, indirect sunlight.
-
Avoid: Direct, harsh sunlight, which can scorch and burn the leaves.
-
Tip: Rotate the pot a quarter-turn every week to ensure all sides get equal light and the plant grows evenly.
💧 Watering
-
Method: Water thoroughly until moisture drains out of the bottom, then empty the tray. Allow the top 2–3 inches of soil to dry out completely before watering again.
-
Important Note: Always ensure there is a visible gap between the soil surface and the top rim of the pot. This gives you proper room to pour water without overflowing and prevents the stalk from sitting in soggy surface soil.
-
Overwatering Risk: Fewer waterings are always better than too many. Stationary water leads to root rot quickly.
🌡️ Temperature & Humidity
-
Temperature: Prefers standard indoor temperatures between 18°C and 27°C. Keep it away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, or direct heating sources.
-
Humidity: Loves a humid environment. If your indoor air is dry, mist the leaves occasionally or place the pot on a tray filled with pebbles and a little water.
🌱 Soil & Fertilizer
-
Soil: Use a well-draining, nutrient-rich potting mix (a peat-moss base with perlite works perfectly).
-
Feeding: Apply a balanced, water-soluble liquid fertilizer diluted to half-strength once a month during the spring and summer growing seasons. Do not fertilize in winter.
